For those of us lucky enough to be in a position to be building or renovating their own home, there are a LOT of choices to be made.  

Sometimes soooooooo many choices it all just gets too CRAZY and we just close our eyes, point and hope for the best.

 This strategy can work out OK ... IF you have narrowed your paint, tile, flooring, taps, kitchen etc choices down to 3 or 4.

In fact, even if you change your mind down the track...

During 2013 at a very LARGE garden expo I started chatting with the owner of one of the displays about our Western Red Cedar Shakes.

The owner appeared very impressed when I outlined all the wonderful characteristics of Cedar Shakes e.g longevity 25 years +, minimal maintenance, hail proof beautiful etc.  Then almost immediately they commented "you're doing yourself out of repeat business by having such a long lasting and  goo...

With everyone now "connected" via various forms of technology it's very hard to find somewhere to "disconnect".  

So just because of that difficulty, I'm not actually going to tell you where this photo is taken.  Some will know, but please,  keep it to yourself.

Time seems to stand still.  

It is one of those rare places where you can really listen to the silence.

Roofing for many of us = B.O.R.I.N.G right?

Well take a look at this roof.  Not the usual is it?

The conical roof shape, the swirling layered pattern of the western red cedar shakes/shingles and copper dome  at the apex ALL combine to deliver an unforgettable, beautiful and highly functioning roof.

In other words this definitely has the "WOW" factor.

For me, this cedar roof is an extension of the personality...
